Online event
Every town used to have a milk bar or café. What are your memories of milk bars? The ice creams, the milkshakes, the lollies?
About this event
Join us for a panel discussion facilitated by Victoria Murray from Bathurst Library with the support of NSW Public Libraries Association.
Leonard Janiszewski, historian and co- author of Greek Cafes and Milk Bars of Australia, will take us on a fascinating trip down memory lane sharing stories of the milk bar culture. Barbra Godfrey will also share her experiences as director of Parry's Milk Bar, Caringbah, an iconic retro styled milk bar with a modern twist that is still successfully operating after 62 years.
Numbers are limited for this free virtual event and bookings are essential.
This presentation will be broadcast online using Zoom. Book your place and we’ll send you a Zoom link to join the meeting (download and install from zoom.us if you haven't already).
