What bird is that? Come &amp; join our Landcare group  &amp; take a walk with Peter Gelding who will help you identify birds found along the creek.

Discovery Park

Peter Gelding will take you on a guided walk along a section of Discovery Lake &amp; Oppossum Creek. Peter is a member of Birds Queensland &amp; has local knowledge about the birds that live around the lake &amp; creek area.Please wear comfortable walking shoes as we will be walking approximately 3 km along a concrete path. It is recommended to wear a sun hat &amp; suitable dark clothing for bird watching. We will meet at the car park at Discovery Parklands at 7.30am &amp; will depart shortly after along the track.BYO water bottle, binoculars, and cameras if you wish to get some photographs of birds. The toilets are at the start of the walk.Your ticket includes morning tea (muffins &amp; a cup of tea or coffee) &amp; a copy of the Birdwalks of Greater Springfield Booklet, containing maps of 6 popular bird walks &amp; 64 photographs of just some of the birds found in our catchment. Birdlife Australia's Birds of South East Qld is available for purchase at a cost of $20. You may wish to join the Great Southern Bioblitz 2025 project folder on iNaturalist to upload you bird images or other flora or fauna you find along the walk.
