Overview

Join us for updates and current information on local services.

These sessions provide a valuable platform to share updates, insights, and developments across the family services and family violence sectors in the Goulburn region.

Each session highlights key initiatives, changes, and opportunities relevant to those working with children, families, and vulnerable community members.

This month we will hear about the Distress Support Service facilitated with MIND Australia and Primary Care Connect, being trialled in Greater Shepparton and now available to the broader public.

Distress Support Service is a non-clinical service supporting participants for a brief 2-3 week period. We can often think of distress as situational - our Lived Experience Peer Practitioners have the capacity to engage with meaningful, compassionate, conversations to understand what the person is experiencing.

Who Should Attend?

These sessions are open to all professionals working across the child and family services sector, including but not limited to:

  • Maternal and Child Health Nurses
  • Child Protection Practitioners
  • Early Childhood Educators and Child Care Workers
  • Family Services Practitioners
  • Family Violence Specialists
  • Community Support Workers
  • Early Years and School Readiness Professionals

We encourage a broad and diverse attendance to support a more connected and informed service system.
