About this event

  • 5 hours

Saturday 15 June
10.30am – 3.30pm

In this workshop, you will play with found objects and items meaningful to you, exploring new ideas and materials to create experimental compositions. Rebecca will show you techniques and approaches to help you go with the flow, and move past things that may block you from achieving your creative ambitions. You’ll learn to trust your instincts to make decisions about your art-making. Rebecca will share her creative processes, including how to research, develop ideas, experiment, and allow chance to help inform creative work. Come along to this supportive space where you'll be encouraged to try things out, without the worry of being judged by others (or yourself!).

Artist Bio: Rebecca Waterstone has exhibited in and curated a number of solo and group exhibitions in Australia and abroad for 30 years. She holds a Master of Art with Excellence, from UNSW Art and Design, and a Bachelor of Education (Art Major) from Western Sydney University; she was a finalist in the Tim Olsen Drawing Prize, Jenny Birt Painting Prize (Highly Commended), and Chippendale Art Prize, has won an Industry Award from UNSW Art and Design, and been awarded residencies internationally and in Australia. Rebecca has extensive arts programming and arts education experience from K-12 and across a range of cultural and tertiary academic settings and has written creative courses and content for nationally accredited curricular arts frameworks in Australia and the UK. She enjoys helping people find their unique creative voice.

Extra info: Tea and coffee provided. This workshop is suitable for those seeking a way to create more freely.
