About this event

Register now to plant native species and contribute to the ecological restoration of Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta this winter.

All equipment will be provided, but please dress appropriately for the weather, bring your own sunscreen, water and a hat, and wear closed toe-shoes. Gloves can be supplied, but please bring your own if available.

Check in for the event will open from 9:30 am. We encourage you to check in early to enjoy a free coffee from the coffee cart. You will then join rangers for the 1 km walk to the planting site, so please arrive on time so you know where to go.

The walk will take approximately 20 minutes along an undulating track with some rough and muddy surfaces. If you would like to attend the planting but do not have the capacity to walk there, please approach ranger staff when you arrive and we will arrange transport.

There is currently significant construction occurring at Glenthorne National Park – Ityamaiitpinna Yarta as we continue to build facilities to provide a unique visitor experience. Please follow any instructions given by rangers to ensure a safe and a pleasant visit for all park users.

Parking will be available at the Glenthorne Ranger Station, 2 Majors Road O’Halloran Hill, see Google map. Roadworks are currently underway along Majors Road, and other areas surrounding the car park may be under construction during this time. Please follow any directions provided by parks staff, signage and other restricted area indicators. We encourage you to car pool if possible.
