Getting the most out of your wicking bed
Event Information
About this Event
Are you thinking about installing wicking beds or have wicking beds already that you're not sure how to use or maintain?
Wicking beds are a type of upside-down watering system well suited to growing veggies in Australian conditions. They use much less water and – even better – require less maintenance than conventional garden beds.
Join Adam Grubb from Very Edible Gardens (VEG) in this 0n-line workshop which explores the science and practicalities of wicking beds, their construction and key components, and how to grow in them for an abundance of delicious produce. Includes practical footage of wicking beds installed by VEG in the newly created Bulleke-Bek Park in Brunswick, Moreland.
No experience is necessary and this free My Smart Garden workshop is proudly presented by the City of Moreland.
Please note that this is an event for City of Moreland / Melbourne gardeners only. Gardening is very context specific and we will not be taking questions relating to other areas. If you live outside Melbourne, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.
If the event is booked out please join the waiting list to be notified if places become available or of future program rounds. If you have any questions please contact ltozzi@moreland.vic.gov.au
