Getting Research into Policy & Practice Workshop

Getting Research into Policy & Practice Workshop

Overview

Transform your research into real-world impact with this comprehensive half-day workshop

Want your research to inform policy but not sure where to start?

Join the Centre for Policy Futures at The University of Queensland for GRiPP, a free, interactive half-day workshop on how policy is made in Australia and how to get your evidence in front of decision-makers.

Led by UQ policy experts and experienced practitioners, the workshop covers the fundamentals of policy-making, the role of evidence, and how to communicate research effectively, finishing with a panel discussion on policy translation in practice.

You'll learn how to:

  • Understand key public policy concepts and models of the policy process
  • Make sense of Australia's system of government
  • Identify the policy actors and stakeholders relevant to your work
  • Recognise how evidence is used in policy-making
