Georabble - Darwin #1
Event Information
Description
GeoRabble is a unique networking opportunity for people who have a passion for working with geographic information and the location of things. Get together and share stories and experiences from the many industries, agencies and research programs in which we work. There are Georabbles held regularly across Australia, and there really is nothing else like it to bring together like-minded geo-obsessed professionals in a social and relaxed environment.
We are very pleased to announce the first GeoRabble - Darwin. This inaugural Georabble event is going to have presenters from a variety of stages in their careers talk about the wins and the losses, the victories and defeats, and why we start and stay in the spatial industry.
The Rabble is FREE with snacks provided, and will be held in Darwin, on Thursday the 12th of September, from 5 to 7 pm in the Deck Bar at 22 Mitchell St, Darwin.
The purpose of GeoRabble is to have fun, share and inspire. There are a few simple rules:
-
Celebrate each others’ triumphs
-
Respect each others’ choice – no technology bigotry
-
No sales pitches – this includes services, software, data etc.
-
No company logos or ‘about us’ slides (special exception for our event sponsor)
-
Keep it short - 10 minutes per talk
Interested in presenting your own work? Let us know!. We are looking to add a few more to this and future events. Whether you are an environmental scientist, surveyor, data analyst, planner, policy advisor, software developer or just have a personal project– we would love to hear your story and insights.
