The UNSW Centre for Criminology, Law & Justice invites you to join us for an exclusive screening of the film, Genocide in the Wildflower State.
This important documentary sheds light on a dark period in Western Australia’s history. Join us to hear firsthand accounts from Stolen Generations survivors and witness their inspiring journey toward healing and justice.
Produced by Yokai Healing Our Spirit – the West Australian Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation (WASGAC), and narrated by Kelton Pell, this film serves as a powerful call for understanding and reconciliation.
Genocide in the Wildflower State is a finalist for the Media and Creative Industries Award in the 2025 Australian Human Rights Awards, which will be announced on 12 December.
The film runs for 57 minutes and will be followed by a Q&A session.
Our special guest at the screening will be Dr Jim Morrison, Minang-Goreng Noongar Elder and Chair of WASGAC, who will introduce the film and participate in a Q & A afterwards.
The screening will take place at 5:30 pm on 9 December 2025 in the Robert Webster Building, Room 327 (Film Theatre), UNSW (Kensington campus).
