About this event

Event summary

This webinar will focus on providing identity-affirming care to trans and gender diverse (TGD) community members, in healthcare settings. It is specifically targeted to allied health and other medical / healthcare professionals.

We will explore key concepts, considerations, reflection points, and practical ideas/adjustments, which are foundational to making your practice inclusive, accessible, and safe for TGD community members. We will approach things from a person-centred, trauma-informed, intersectional, de-pathologising, anti-oppressive framework, based on evidence and community lived experience.

Key topics will include:

  • Understanding gender (more nuanced than you might think)
  • Fostering safe, inclusive, affirming care / experiences
  • Intersecting identities
  • Agency, advocacy, and allyship

Folks' diverse experiences and insights are valued, and there will be room for respectful questions / reflections.

I look forward to exploring these areas with you, and value you taking the time to support the TGD community.
