Is this an inclusive event? Who is welcome?

Absolutely. *g.a.y. disco is open to everyone who comes with respect. This is a space rooted in acceptance, freedom of expression, and shared love of house music. If you’re here for the music, the dance floor, and good energy, you're welcome.

What are the respect and consent guidelines?

Respect is non-negotiable. Consent is a core part of that. Whether it’s dancing close, touching, flirting, or engaging in conversation. A yes is great. A no is final. No assumptions, no pressure, no entitlement. Everyone deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and free on the dance floor.

What kind of music can I expect?

House Music. Influences of disco and divas with real world instruments and percussion. *g.a.y. disco will flow between vocal-led and instrumental grooves: essentially, music that breathes, builds, and keeps the dance floor locked.

Is there a no-phones policy?

We strongly encourage a no-phones-on-the-dancefloor approach. It’s not enforced, but it’s part of the culture we’re building. Be present, connect with the music, and connect with each other. Trust us, the memories will land harder this way.

Will there be a photographer?

Yes. There will be a photographer on site capturing throughout the day/night. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let the photographer or event staff know and they’ll respect that.

Overview

A love letter to house music.

g.a.y. disco is our love letter to house music. Music that's rooted in freedom of expression, respect, and human connection.

Is it giving divas, darling? Oh, of course! But not the pop divas we know and love. This is about the soulful, enriching voices that lift you up, take you somewhere, and make it mean something. Donna and Diana and CeCe got us started, many others have followed suit since then.

Expect groovy basslines, piano riffs, balearic percussion, and real-world instruments that drive the sound, with nods to our favourite anthems and a selection of house music you won’t find on the pop charts.

*g.a.y. disco is an LGBTIQA+ event at heart. Yet, it's still open to all. Respect for one another is a priority. That means you might be dancing with a drag queen, a straight man (oh how many of you dream!), a Gold Coast housewife, a member of the LGBTIQA+ community, or simply anyone who’s here for the music and a good time.

Any behaviour that compromises this will be addressed by staff and security and may result in removal from the event.

*We highly encourage a no-phones-on-the-dancefloor approach. It won't be mandated, but the intention is simple: let’s reconnect with each other and the music.
