About this event

Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention training is a two-day workshop designed for workers in the human services whose roles bring them into regular contact with people at risk of suicide. It aims to increase knowledge and understanding of suicidal behaviour in order to increase participant’s capacity to respond effectively to those in need.

Organised by

The South West Suicide Prevention Coordinator roles are funded by the Mental Health Commission and hosted by St John of God South West Community Alcohol and Drug Service. We coordinate suicide prevention training for professionals working with those at risk of suicide as well as communities and individuals who come into contact with person's at risk. We also work with Local Governments, communities and stakeholders to build community capacity to help prevent suicide.

Please consider the impact of attending suicide prevention training on you personally. People who have been recently bereaved by suicide or personally affected may wish to consider the timing for them to attend training. If you have any questions, please contact us on 9722 1956 or email suicideprevention.southwest@sjog.org.au.
