No pre-requisite knowledge required and suitable for foundation level teachers.

Autodesk Fusion 360 (free for educators) is an Autodesk cloud-based 3D modelling, CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software platform for product design and manufacturing. It is used for 3D design & modelling, manufacturing, electronics, simulation, generative design, and more. Therefore, is the perfect tool for the classroom for aligning, equipping, and empowering your students with relevant industry tools.

  • Establish foundational tools and skills of Fusion 360, alongside workshop production skills.
  • Hands on design exercise to achieve a pre-developed design - built on an assembly of components.
  • Drive 3D geometry from sketch-based drawings across a the range of 3D intermediatory functions (extrude, revolve, sweep & loft etc.) towards workshop production.
  • Hands-on CNC use in workshop and integration with Fusion360.
  • Exporting your work for difference devices, formats and manufacturing capabilities for lo-fi or hi-fi prototyping.
  • Q&A Session with trainers with on-going teacher email support.
  • Ready to use digital resources and guides.

All attending teachers must use their own Autodesk log-ins and have Fusion 360 installed, opened and tested on their own preferred device, ready to use. We highly recommend attending teachers to:

  • Speak to the IT department for advice and usage parameters / log-ins.
  • Bring your own mouse for use.
  • Wear workshop appropriate footwear (clossed caps or steel cap boots) and attire.
