Contemporary Art x Design
Romulus Folio Gallery invites you to the Opening Night of FUSION, an exhibition exploring the convergence of contemporary art and spatial design through the work of luxury interior designer, bespoke furniture maker and sculptor Mark Alexander.
Presented within the architectural framework of the gallery, FUSION brings sculptural furniture, immersive interior vision and contemporary painting into a unified spatial field. The exhibition examines how material, proportion and light operate across disciplines, dissolving the boundaries between object, surface and environment.
The exhibition includes documentation from Flights of Love, a collaborative project between Mark Alexander and Angelina Mirabito. The painting series, created by Mirabito in close conceptual collaboration with Alexander, draws from the flowing staircase and material language of the Brisbane Art Deco residence. Concept development and process documentation connected to this project are presented within the exhibition.
Documentation of the larger interior installation reveals Alexander’s immersive methodology, where sculpture, bespoke furniture, art and architectural detailing function as a cohesive spatial composition. Light is not incidental but integral, shaping perception and activating material presence.
Join us as we open FUSION and experience a dialogue where contemporary art and design occupy the same architectural terrain.
Free entry. All welcome.
The exhibition and all events are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all visitors.
• Wheelchair accessible
