Wound Innovations is proud to deliver the Full Fundamentals of Wound Management Workshop to health care professionals within the Gold Coast/Northern NSW Region. This face-to-face workshop is the equivalent to 6.5 continuing professional development (CPD) hours.

Wound Innovations face to face education program aims to increase staff knowledge, improve outcomes for residents with wounds, and promote organisational strategies for wound prevention. The full fundamentals of Wound Management covers the topics as listed below and has been broken down into four micro sessions.

Learning objectives / Topics covered:

- Pressure Injuries and Incontinence Associated Dermatitis

- The Skin and Wound Healing and Skin Tears

- Lower Leg Wounds

- Wound Assessment and Management

Upon completion of the workshop, certificates are issued outlining the course content and learning outcomes.

Presenter Bio: Alan Shackleton Nurse Practitioner Wound Management - RN, PGDip, MN, NP, Credentialed Wound Clinician - Alan Shackleton has been involved in supporting individuals with wounds for around 20 years across the continuum of healthcare. Alan started his wound care career in England as a community nurse then continued to follow this passion in both New Zealand as a Nurse Consultant and now in Australia as a Nurse Practitioner. During this time, Alan has led the development of multiple clinical education pathways, clinical practice guidelines and was recognised for his work in the development of a complex wound service, which guides the delivery of gold standard care to individuals with wounds in Auckland New Zealand. Alan has worked at a national level though a consulting role with New Zealand’s PHARMAC in which he supported the development of a national wound care consumable formulary. More recently, Alan has worked with both Queensland Health and Wound Innovations continuing his passion in service development and the delivery of gold standard care to individuals suffering with wounds.
