Overview

Learn to sculpt your very own functional ceramic homewares starting with lidded jars and containers!

About this workshop:

Session 1 (Sculpting): Students will learn basic hand-building skills to sculpt your very own jars, vases and containers out of clay. These will then be fired in time for glazing in Session 2.

Session 2 (Glazing): After the jars and containers have been fired, students will learn to apply ceramic paints and glazes to decorate them as they wish. These will be fired a second time before they are ready to be collected.

Age: 18+

Session 1 (Sculpting): Tuesday 7 April, 6-8pm

Session 2 (Glazing): Tuesday 14 April, 6-8pm

Note: This is a two-part workshop. You must be available for both dates.

Cost:

$70 General Admission

$63 Concession (Seniors, students)

Note: This class has a capacity of 12 students and requires a minimum of 6 students to run.

After hours access:

Bankstown Arts Centre closes to the public at 4pm. To access the classroom after hours, please enter through the back gate via the Olympic Parade car park.

Bankstown Arts Centre cannot accept responsibility for changes to students’ personal circumstances that prevent attendance. Fees are non-refundable and there are no transfers or refunds if you miss a class.

Fees are kept to a minimum and cover tuition, the use of equipment during classes and where included, the cost of tutor fees and/ or basic materials. Fees and charges may increase per financial year. For more information on fees, refer to Canterbury-Bankstown Fees and Charges document
