Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop

Our community garden is in Avondale Heights, a suburb of Moonee Valley, ~11 km north west of Melbourne CBD.   We have >35 vegetable plots, a shared orchard, frog bog, perennial borders, remnant western plains flora, compost, garden sheds, shelter and accessible toilet.  The garden is hidden down a laneway on River Drive.

Scott Hitchins is a founding member of the Werribee Park Heritage Orchard and experienced workshop facilitator. Scott will pass on his knowledge about tree health and tips for promoting great fruit growth in this 2 hour hands on workshop.Learn about pruning deciduous fruit trees, then try out your new skills in the practical section of the workshop. We will start with sharpening secateurs and garden tools, then you'll have a chance to practise your pruning on the trees in the community garden orchard.
