Sustainable Saturday - Espalier workshop - Pruning and training for fruit in small spaces

This hands-on workshop offers participants skills and knowledge in best practice pruning techniques to maintain healthy plants. From basic cuts to advanced espalier (training plants to grow on a flat plane), this workshop has something for everyone, no matter the size of your garden. No garden at all? Not a problem, the espalier technique is perfect for potted trees too. Participants will have a chance to train young fruit trees for the Pasadena Community Centre’s Community Garden and are encouraged to bring along their neglected secateurs and loppers for a cleaning and sharpening activity.
