From FPGA to ASIC

From FPGA to ASIC

Macquarie UniversityMacquarie Park, NSW
Friday, Feb 27 from 3 pm to 6 pm AEDT
Overview

Join us for an in-depth seminar exploring the journey from FPGA to ASIC design.

Moderated by Prof. Mike Boers, this session features Iain Waugh, Engineering Manager at Blackmagic Design, who will share practical insights on transitioning FPGA designs into ASIC.

Iain’s presentation will cover:

  • The general ASIC toolchain flow for digital design
  • Communicating effectively with a fabrication partner
  • Accessing and using digital cell libraries
  • Coding styles and common pitfalls to avoid
  • Reset strategies
  • Designing with RAMs to target FPGA and ASIC

The session will also include a fireside chat with Post Doctoral Researcher, Andrea Mazzanti, offering additional perspectives on ASIC development flow and will conclude with a Q&A

Who should attend?
Engineers, researchers, and professionals interested in ASIC design, FPGA-to-ASIC migration, and semiconductor development workflows.

Blackmagic Design are the world's leading innovators and manufacturers of creative video technology. Blackmagic Design manufacture high-end digital cinema cameras, video production hardware, and post-production software.
