FREE Shockingly Simple: CPR & AED Awareness Session by Heart Foundation

The Granville CentreGranville, NSW
Wednesday, Mar 4 from 11 am to 12 pm AEDT
Overview

...

As part of Seniors Festival Expo 2026, Cumberland City Council would like to invite senior members of the community to a free workshop on how to recognize a cardiac arrest, call for help, start CPR and use an AED.

Every minute matters in a cardiac emergency. You don’t need to be a medical professional to save a life – you just need to know what to do.

In this free workshop for seniors, experts from the Heart Foundation will guide you through the simple steps of calling, pushing, and shocking. You’ll walk away with the confidence to step in if someone collapses – because turning bystanders into responders is what saves lives.

What to expect:

  • Learn the difference between a heart attack and cardiac arrest
  • Understand how to recognise when someone needs CPR
  • Get hands-on practice with CPR and an AED (defibrillator)
  • Build the confidence to take action when it matters most

It’s simple. It’s practical. It could save a life.
