Seniors Festival FREE Self Defence Workshop for Seniors
Learn how to protect yourself and stay safe and confident when out in the community.
As part of Seniors Festival Expo 2026, Cumberland City Council would like to invite senior members of the community to a free self defence workshop designed to empower seniors to feel safe and confident when in the community.
Self-defence training teaches you how to be aware of your surroundings and focus on your safety. This workshop will help you to learn techniques to prepare for the unexpected and protect yourself in an emergency.
Date: Wednesday 4 March 2026
Time: 12:00 noon to 1:00pm
Venue: The Granville Centre - Workshop Room 1

Terms and conditions:
- Workshop is open to residents aged 65yrs or over (50yrs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders) and people with disability aged 18yrs or over and their carers living within the Cumberland City LGA.
- If you have Flu like symptoms, please do not attend.
- Bookings open Monday 2 February 2026 and close 12 February 2026 or once booked out. If you do not attend this may impact your ability to book for future Seniors & Disability events provided by Council.
