Government House, also known as Fernberg, is Queensland's premier heritage home and the working residence of the Queensland Governor.

Take a guided tour of the House, including the stately Dining Room, Drawing Room, Investiture Room and Small Sitting Room, and enjoy the extensive art collection on display, including works on loan from the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art and the Royal Collection Trust.

From the original villa built for German-born merchant Johann Heussler in 1865 to today’s contemporary Government House, the story of Fernberg is inextricably linked to the history and people of Queensland.

The tour takes about 90 minutes and participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to commencement via 168 Fernberg Road, Paddington (Gate B).

Please print ticket/s or download them in the EventBrite App prior to arrival. All adult attendees are required to produce photo ID.

Contact details are required for each attendee (ie if you are booking multiple tickets, you are required to complete contact details for each ticketholder).

The tour includes about 50 stairs. If you have mobility limitations, please phone (07) 3858 5700 after booking. Limited photography is permitted upon staff direction. No backpacks or large handbags are to be taken into the House.

Government House staff reserve the right to film and/or photograph tours and events within the groups of the Fernberg Estate and do so regularly for official social media accounts and for educational purposes. All care is taken to do so in a respectful manner and avoid clear identification of individuals, especially children. If you do not wish to be featured on Government House social media, please advise your tour guide or the staff member involved.
