Discover Peace and Vitality: Free Falun Dafa Workshop

Join us for a welcoming and restorative Falun Dafa workshop at Studio 3, Nunawading Community Hub, 96-106 Springvale Rd, Nunawading, 3131, on Every Fortnight Wednesday expect Public Holiday Periods. Held every Wednesday evening from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, this workshop offers a gentle introduction to Falun Dafa’s peaceful exercises and meditation — a traditional Chinese spiritual practice embraced in over 100 countries worldwide.

This workshop runs fortnightly on an ongoing basis. Participants are welcome to register for a single session or multiple sessions, depending on their preference. Throughout the sessions, new learners will be guided step by step from the very beginning until they have fully grasped the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises. In time, they will be able to practice the exercises and meditation confidently on their own.

Rooted in the core principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, Falun Dafa supports holistic wellbeing by harmonising body and mind, easing stress, and nurturing inner calm and vitality. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, this workshop requires no prior experience.

This free community initiative, proudly supported by Whitehorse City Council, is designed to create a supportive and peaceful environment where participants can slow down, restore balance, and build connections within the local community.

Number One of the Five Sets of Exercises

Buddha Stretching a Thousand Arms 佛展千手法

Using gentle stretching movements, this exercise opens all energy channels in the body.

Number Two of the Five Sets of Exercises

Falun Standing Stance 法輪樁法

Consisting of four static postures that are held for several minutes each, this exercise enhances one’s energy level and awakens wisdom.

Number Three of the Five Sets of Exercises

Penetrating the Cosmic Extremes 貫通兩極法

With gentle hand-gliding movements, this exercise purifies the body using energy from the universe.

Falun Cosmic Orbit 法輪周天法

By gently tracing the hands over the entire body, front and back, this exercise rectifies all abnormal conditions in the body and circulates energy widely.

Introduction to Falun Dafa
Each fortnightly session includes a demonstration of 1 to 5 sets of Falun Dafa exercises, depending on the learners’ situation. Alongside the teaching, every learner will be kindly reminded of the core principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and the benefits Falun Dafa has offered to people worldwide throughout its 33 years of public introduction will be highlighted.

Step-by-Step Teaching
Learners will be taught the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises progressively, starting from the very basics and gradually covering all movements. Volunteers will guide learners step by step, ensuring everyone gains the confidence to practice independently.

Whether you are joining for the first time or returning after previous weeks, you will be introduced to our Falun Dafa teaching volunteers present on the evening. After a brief introduction and cordial greetings, the session will begin.

Each weekly session at Nunawading Community Hub will begin with a short introduction to Falun Dafa, highlighting its core principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Participants will learn how this practice supports mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. For those new to the practice, we will also touch on the origins of Falun Dafa, its growth into a worldwide practice, and the many benefits people have experienced, including stress relief, improved health, and personal growth. Following the introduction, our volunteers will demonstrate 1 to 5 sets of Falun Dafa exercises, depending on the learners’ situation each evening. These demonstrations show the gentle, slow, and meditative nature of the movements. Volunteers will also explain the purpose of each exercise, so participants—whether attending once or returning over several weeks—can understand and experience how the practice cultivates inner calm, energy, and resilience.
