Overview

In celebration of new release The New Wave, sequel to Fiona Basile’s internationally award-winning book Immerse.

The Next Wave is the sequel to Fiona Basile’s internationally award-winning book Immerse. It celebrates the growth and diversity of an open water swimming community in Seaford, Victoria. Through stunning photography and intimate reflections, it captures the joy, resilience, and friendships forged in the sea. Thirty-six swimmers, who come from near and far, share how the water heals, challenges, and transforms them, offering stories of hope, courage, wonder, and gratitude.

During this author talk, Fiona will share how this book captures and honours both the ordinary and extraordinary moments of life in and by the ocean - from sunrises and laughter to loss and renewal, revealing the strength of community and the beauty of connection.
