Event description

Description

For bushwalkers and history enthusiasts alike, this talk offers a unique chance to meet intrepid bush explorers, Michael Keats OAM, Brian Fox and Yuri Bolotin and hear about their adventures and discoveries whilst compiling their new book, Wollemi National Park: Day Walks from Newnes, which also includes a concise history of the Wolgan Valley.

The talk will include information about walks in the area which will be a revelation for anyone, even those familiar with the Blue Mountains, as most of the areas in the book are off the beaten track. They will delve into the fascinating human and natural history of the place and present many photos of the amazing natural wonders of the park and abandoned town.

Their series of books on The Gardens of Stone and beyond, the Wollemi National Park and the Upper Grose Valley are the definitive sources of information on iconic bush areas and are full colour, illustrated productions containing information about history, geology, fauna and flora of the area, as well as bushwalking opportunities.

A FREE talk includes afternoon tea.
