In this advanced workshop you will learn how to forge two knifes from a railway spike and leaf spring steel. We will teach you how to forge the knife to shape, forge in bevels and make a handle and harden the knifes edge. This workshop requires completion of the Introductory to Blacksmithing workshop as the basic skills learned are essential for this workshop.

Time:- 10am to 2pm

Duration:- 4 hours

The day starts with a Safety Induction and then we briefly cover some blacksmithing concepts and tools. This is followed by a demonstration of some basic techniques,

Together we will practise hammer control, tong selection and moving the steel to shape. This is a small workshop of max 4 students. If you need to reschedule, please make contact ASAP.

Suitable For:-

Anyone over 16 years old with a parent doing the workshop together.

Anyone able to lift a 1.5 kg hammer

Anyone able to follow basic safety instructions as provided by your instructor who is with you every step of the way.

We recommend wearing full-length pants and closed-toe shoes on the day. We will provide blacksmith aprons and suitable eye and ear protection.

The workshop will be held in the backyard of our location in Kyabram, Victoria in a shed under roof

**Minimum of 2 people required to run the workshop. If only one person is book we will reschedule to the next month..
