Join us for three hours of connecting with nature for your health and wellbeing.

Matt Glover is the Lead Guide at Forest Therapy Victoria and the director of MGA Counselling Services. He is a trauma informed counsellor, working with individuals and couples to achieve a full and abundant life. He is Australia's first qualified counsellor to be accredited with the International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance.

Matt's team are trained to guide you through a series of carefully selected activities designed to maximise your interaction with nature and enhance your wellbeing.

This walk is designed for those who want to experience a deeper connection with nature and benefit from the health benefits such as reduced stressed levels, stronger immune systems, better sleep, and improved mental health management.

Grant's Picnic Ground is a traditional meeting place of the Wurundjeri People and is rich with Indigenous history and abundant with native plant and wildlife.

Your three hour forest therapy experience will teach you a little of the science and research around using nature for your wellbeing. You will then expereince a series of creative, sensory and mindful activities all designed to maximise your interaction with nature and enhance your well being.

If you've never been to the Dandenongs before, this will be an incredible introduction to the beauty of the towering Moutain Ash and the peace afforded by being in the forest. If you've been many times, you will experience in a way you never have before!

Toilet facilities are available at this location. A limited bus service is also available.

Forest Therapy is an emerging field in the health and wellbeing industry. With recognised beneficial impacts on our immune systems, heart rate, concentration, sleep patterns, and general wellbeing, this is three hours well spent!

Combining a gentle walk with forest therapy activities, participants will experience nature on a whole new way.

On the day of your walk, it is essential you bring the following:

Covered, walking shoes - no open toed shoes please!

Water bottle and snacks. (While social distancing restrictions are in place we will not be doing shared snacks at the end of the walk)

Pen and notebook

Clothing appropriate to the weather conditions.

Please ensure you are wearing sunscreen.

Note that the walk will be cancelled if the weather conditions are deemed to be too dangerous.
