Forensic Detectives - Deakin University Outreach Program
Year 9 & 10 students are invited to participate in an interactive forensic science crime-solving workshop at Deakin Waurn Ponds campus.
This interactive program is a fantastic opportunity for Year 9 and 10 students to dive into the world of forensic science.
In a 3-hour workshop in Deakin University’s state-of-the-art science labs, students will take on real-life detective work, investigating key forensic techniques such as fingerprinting, entomology, DNA analysis, and more. They'll also explore the science behind crime-solving with hands-on activities related to blood, hair, pollen, and fibre analysis. Plus, they’ll visit our Crime Scene House facility for an immersive experience in forensic investigations. It's the perfect way to spark student interest in a future career in forensics!
Ticketing and student numbers.
As part of the registration process, please ensure that you book tickets for the exact number of students who will be attending the event from your school. Each ticket should correspond to one student.
Due to laboratory capacity, a maximum of 25 student can participate per day. The minimum number of students per school is 5 per day.
Please note that for school groups of students larger than 15, 2 supervisng teachers are required to attend.
