Overview

Join us at the ANU Bone Lab for a murder mystery—uncover clues and find the Bone Breaker through bones!

Please Note: All attendees must wear close-toed shoes on the day.

Join us at the ANU Bone Lab for a classic murder mystery, except this time, you are looking for clues and finding the Bone Breaker through bones!

In Part 1 of this workshop, you will briefly learn the basics of human skeletal analysis, including excavation, bone identification, and skeletal inventory, age-at-death and sex estimation, how to estimate someone’s height from their bones, and how to identify bone diseases and skeletal trauma.

In Part 2, you will be hot on the trail of a dastardly killer! The ‘Bone Breaker’ lurks silently around the ANU at night, leaving only the skeletal remains of their victims as evidence of their wicked deeds. The Police have recovered his latest victim, and they need your expertise in human skeletal analysis to identify the missing person and determine how they died. Only you can ‘read’ the bones to uncover the Bone Breaker’s actions! Help the good citizens of the ANU sleep soundly at night by solving this heinous crime.
