RMIT University's Sir Lawrence Wackett Centre (SLWC) is delighted to invite you to hear Mr. Jerome Mullan speak about the issues of foreign interference and the implications for universities and industry.
The webinar will explore the threat facing Australia as changes in technology enable malign actors to target universities and industry, their IP, staff and infrastructure.
Meet your Presenters:
Professor Aleks Subic is Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the College of Science, Engineering and Health (SEH), and Vice President for Digital Innovation at RMIT University. Professor Subic currently plays a key role in shaping the global technology agenda, as Chair of the European Research Council (ERC) Expert Panel for Physical Sciences and Engineering, and through his work with the Global Federation of Competitiveness Council (GFCC) and engagement with the German Plattform Industrie 4.0 leadership.
Professor Michelle Gee is Director of the SLWC and Professor of Aerospace Engineering at RMIT University. Professor Gee leads multidisciplinary research, education and workforce training for Aerospace and Defence. She has worked in both the corporate and tertiary sectors and is passionate about supporting technology sector growth, in close partnership with Government and the Aerospace and Defence industries.
Meet your Speaker:
Mr. Jerome Mullan is the Director of Operations, at Protegas Australia. As a senior intelligence and security advisor with experience across the Australian Government, Defence and the commercial sector, Mr. Mullan has conceived, designed, and managed integrated security organisations in a wide variety of security settings from permissive to high risk security environments. As a former Major in the Australian Intelligence Corps, he has led intelligence teams both domestically and on operations.
Since leaving Defence Mr. Mullan has combined the knowledge and skills gained through a military career with contemporary business education and consulting experience. His current role as the Director of Operations for Protegas Australia sees him coordinating and providing security risk intelligence advice and support to organisations seeking to protect their intellectual property.
