Please note: Wednesday 27 Feburary at 5.30pm-8.30pm & 2 March 2019 at 9am - 3pm. You must attend both days to receive a certificate.

Light Refreshment will be provided.

This course is aimed at food handling personnel or Food Safety Supervisors working in tourism, hospitality and catering organisations with permanent or temporary kitchen premises, smaller food preparation or bar areas. This course meets the legislative requirements of the NSW Food Authority for a Food Safety Supervisor.

This program will address the following Nationally Recognised Units of Competency:

SITXFSA101 - Use hygienic practices for food safety

SITXFSA201 - Participate in safe food handling practices This program will incorporate training and assessment to specifically address training needs in the areas of:

  • Following hygiene procedures and organisational food safety programs.
  • Identifying food hazards.
  • Reporting any personal health issues.
  • Preparation, storage and disposal of food safely.
  • Providing safe single use items.
  • Preventing food contamination.
  • Preventing cross contamination by washing hands.
  • Maintaining a clean environment.

Training will be delivered by TAFE NSW. Participants will need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. This is a Federal Government requirement that all students undertaking accredited courses are required to have. To get a USI log on to the link below and complete the registration form. Please bring the number with you to the first day of class as the teacher will need to write it on their enrolment form.
