Follow Up: Learn to Crochet In The Round and more!

Join teacher Sarah Dally from pickles goes to market for an educational yet enjoyable and relaxed afternoon, learning to crochet in the round: all materials inclusive, including bonus materials for you to take home! The perfect workshop to take part in after her Beginners class!

Further build on your sense of accomplishment, cementing all the skills you need to become a confident crocheter, whilst reducing your impact on the environment.

Date: Every month (except Dec & Jan)

Time: 2pm - 4.30pm

Location: The Nest Community, The Sheds, 264 South Pine Road, Brendale, QLD 4500

During this in-person event, your experienced instructor will guide you through the basics of the base techniques used to crochet in the round.

Please note this is not a beginners / learn from scratch workshop: you will already need to be confident crocheting in rows, including chain, double crochet and treble crochet (UK).

For those yet needing to learn these basics, you can attend my 'Beginners: Learn to Crochet The Easy Way!' class.

Initially, you will make an eco-friendly reusable makeup remover, using premium quality 100% cotton crochet yarn. With enough yarn for you to take home and finish (once you have the technique down pat).

We will then add to your stitch repertoire, building on the basic double and trebles: your welcome to the world of half, double, and triple stitch variations.

Lastly, we will learn how to crochet a basic Granny Square. The Granny Square is the best project to enable you to jump off into the diverse universe of crochet on your own!

You will also leave with a beautiful picot petalled mandala, and filagree heart shape pattern for you to make at home.

On going home, you will feel totally confident to take on most any project, knowing all the main stitches, including reading pictogram patterns.

Overall learning outcomes:

· Learn to crochet in the round.

· Learn variations of the foundation stitches (half, double, and triples).

· Learn to combine these stitches, by making a Granny Square.

· Learn how to read a pictogram pattern.

· Bring all your questions to an expert crocheter!

By attending this event, you'll not only learn a new craft, but also be able to continue lowering your carbon footprint at home.

My name is Sarah, I am an award winning artist, passionate about textile craft & sustainability. I sell some upcycled clothing pieces - mostly via The Reverse Emporium (at Reverse Garbage in Brisbane). I also love my work helping others find their joy by teaching creative workshops. Currently I offer Rag Rug and Coil Basket Making, however, I have taught a vast range of skills over the past 8 years (both in formal and casual education settings). I always have new ideas/skills/projects on the boil - and am a MacGyver of clothing design/alterations - so well worth following on socials!
