Turn your passion for flowers into a creative outlet or career with this hands-on short course. Over six engaging sessions, you’ll gain the basic skills needed to design and create floral goods suitable for sale in a community marketplace.
You will gain practical skills in creating a variety of floral arrangements for the home or as gifts, while learning how to select, prepare, and care for flowers and foliage sourced from your garden, local markets, or floristry suppliers. Each session combines demonstration, discussion, and guided practice, allowing you to explore different arrangement styles, such as hand-tied bunches, posies, feature displays, and table centrepieces.
With an emphasis on creativity and confidence building, this short course is ideal for those wanting to explore floral design for personal enjoyment or as a pathway to further study in floristry.
Eligibility and entry requirements
To enrol in this course, you must be aged 17 years or older, and be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- a New Zealand citizen
- the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- an eligible temporary visa holder as defined in the CIT Admission and Enrolment Policy.
Delivery mode
- Face-to-face course delivered on-campus over 6 weeks (3 hours per week)
