Celebrate Spring with Flower Pounding: A Botanical Printing Workshop!

Karingal PLACE Neighbourhood Centre

As Spring begins to bloom, it feels only appropriate that we reconnect and celebrate its ephemeral beauty. Known as Flower Pounding, Botanical Printing, or Hapa Zome - in this two and a half hour workshop you’ll be introduced to the basics of this meditative technique that involves you transferring the natural dyes in organic matter onto fabric and paper with a little bit of elbow grease. Learn the basics of flower pounding and artwork setting before exploring your own composition with the provided seasonal botanicals! You’ll leave with three handmade pieces of art, the knowledge of how to care for it, and the confidence to continue this artform at home!
