FLOATING MOON - Comedy Experience

Clandestinois a Canberra based cultural production company dedicated to putting on high quality and diverse musical events, festivals and experiences.From quality Urban Latin events and to world music from around the country and the world. Clandestino is run by local producer Rafael Florez + friends.The idea is to have a place where the people of Canberra can gather to share a love of music and the rhythmical movements that this produces in the human body (commonly known as dancing). A meeting point of all peoples who are interested in quality beats, quality rhythms + expereinces.No pretension, just great vibes and unique events for people who want to share and celebrate this ephemeral journey of life.

FLOATING MOON is a unique stand-up comedy night.
Part audio-visual hallucination, part gravitational proof - this Lunar Ritual is open to all lovers of theoretical physics and Spacetime Logic.

Headlined by Canberra Comedy Festival’s Anthony Tomic, the night will feature performances by local stand up heroes Maddy Weeks, Nick Schuller, Taylor Coughtrie, Chris Marlton, James McMahon, Al Thorne - and is hosted/MCed by the charismatic tour de force that is Frances McNair.
Joining these wordsmiths of ill-repute will be the visual hallucinations produced by Rafael Florez, a local filmmaker and nano-tech connoisseur, whose video pieces will contextualise and shed light on the whole FLOATING MOON Experience.
The final piece of the experience will be provided by local sound artist and vibrational high-priest Benjamin Harb, who will be providing live soundscapes beamed directly from the lunar surface as the night progresses and during the intermission (<A HREF="http://www.benharbcomposition.com" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">more info</A>)
Ben’s work focuses on the use of electro-acoustic instrumentation, spatialisation and open form composition. He is also an amateur hypnotherapist.
FLOATING MOON came about as a result of a two very specific desires - the first being to provide a space for local comics, upcoming and established, to do weirder and edgier material, and secondly, to create a unique ambience for these performances to be cultivated. 
The as yet unproven physics, anti-gravitational experiments, and certificates of participation for all are just a bonus.

How does laughing elevate the moon?
“Satirical forces from the shrinking universe wash over the Moon as it dances around the Earth. These galactic forces are balanced by the ‘absurdity constant’ - a force that emanates from Earth itself and keeps the Moon locked in orbit. 
Gorman’s Theory of General Comeditivity tells us that the properties of humour and specifically the vibrations generated by humanoid laughter actually curve spacetime.
It is this interplay between laughter and spacetime curvature that balances the satirical and the absurdist forces - an imbalance manifests itself when humans do not laugh enough.”
