In March, our special speaker is Dr Silvia Pfeiffer, co-founder of Coviu and one of Australia’s most impactful digital health startups.
Silvia’s journey began in research. With a PhD in Computer Science and experience as a senior research scientist at CSIRO. Her research focus led her to shape the HTML5 and WebRTC standards at Google and Mozilla - well before Youtube even existed!
Driven by a desire to create real-world impact, Silvia returned to CSIRO to apply her expertise into healthcare. Where she helped develop a telehealth prototype that later spun out as Coviu, a startup she co-founded, bootstrapped, and scaled into Australia’s leading telehealth platform.
Today, Coviu powers 7M+ consultations for 90,000+ clinicians worldwide, achieved five-digit growth, and ranked #2 on the Deloitte Tech Fast 50.
Silvia was recognised for this amazing success and was named Founder of the Year at the 2020 Women in Digital Awards and was recognised in The Australian’s Top 100 Innovators list in 2022.
Fastforward to 2026 - Silvia is now Chief Product Officer at CARED. A startup that is helping health providers adopt AI, scale smarter workflows, and deliver better care at scale.
