Finding the Thread : Conventions and Intentions

This workshop brings participant together with collaborators of Institute of Luck.

Over four sessions this it introduces participants to principles and methods developed by Eugenio Barba and Odin Teatret, founders of theatre anthropology, learned through Alice's practical research with this historic theatre group since 2012.

It invites participants to explore these tools within their own work, as well as inviting contributions from IOL collaborators reflecting on approaches that have developed our projects and company.

It invites participants to reflect on their experience of these exercises, developing the practice of auto - ethnographic theatre anthropology. Its exploration of intention and convention considers how the happy accidents of theatre idiosyncratically reflect theatre’s relationship of transformation with our everyday lives.

This project is supported by the Inner West Creative Town Halls program. It is hosted at Mervyn Fletcher Hall, Haberfield.
