Dear Absent Father by, Cheryne Blom. An Online Short Film Premiere & Healing Conversation
There are stories we carry quietly.
Stories of longing.
Stories of absence.
Stories of love we didn’t receive.
Dear Absent Father is a deeply personal short film exploring how father absence shapes a woman’s self-worth, relationships, and journey toward self-love.
This is more than a film.
It is a letter.
A reckoning.
A healing.
And you are invited.
This is a deeply personal project that I am excited to share.
Dear Absent Father follows a woman’s internal journey as she reflects on the emotional impact of growing up without her father. Through vulnerability and truth, the film explores how unprocessed childhood pain can silently shape our identity, our relationships, and our capacity to receive love.
It asks the questions many of us hold quietly:
- Why do I doubt myself?
- Why do I struggle to feel fully safe in love?
- Why do I question my worth?
- How do I heal what was never acknowledged?
This film is an invitation to stop surviving… and begin healing.
