Description

FGT will be hosting a cherry industry day on Thursday, 19 September 2019. Hosted at historic Somercotes in Ross, the event includes a guided orchard walk, demonstrations of steam-weeding and sprayer calibration, and updates on TIA's latest cherry research activities and findings. The day will also feature a Q&A discussion about on-farm biosecurity and discuss chemical options for pest control, chemical rotation for resistance management, and restrictions on agrichemical use for international markets.

Invited speakers at the even include Sammi Riggall & Julie Bingley (Somercotes), Dr Peter Quinn (TIA), Dr Nadine Macha (TIA), Cameron Stone (TIA), Charlotte Brunt (CGA) & Tom Eastlake (CGA). The event includes morning tea & lunch, and will aim to finish by 3:30pm. Drinks and refreshments will be available beforehand,
