FEMINIST WALKING TOUR
Sunday December 12 , 11-1.30pm 150-152 Elizabeth St, Sydney NSW
[postponed from November 7 due to bad weather]
Find out about Sydney's feminist and LGBTIQ+ struggle history.
This walking tour will catalogue the resistance against the heteropatriarchy.
It’ll explore key women’s rights and LGBTIQ+ street fighting events excluded and muted within the annals of public memory.
We will stop at Aboriginal and women convict rebellion sites. We will review queer campaigns. We will examine migrant women battle sites and stop at momentos of women's literary and journalistic endeavours.
This expedition will demonstrate that feminist resistance, revolts, and determined opposition are part of a people's uprising heritage.
Located in the beautiful Hyde Park, the Barracks and top end of Sydney's CBD.
The tour will take 2.5 hours along a 3km, flat route. Water and nibbles provided.
