LADIES OF LEISURE (LOL)is a creative collective based in Melbourne-Naarm.We're about supporting vision, creativity, and vulnerability in its many different forms. We want LOL to excite, inspire and encourage through profiling the people who are making *it* happen and providing insights as to how they're doing it.LOL is a community that celebrates strength, weakness, success, and process, running a wide variety of workshops with industry leaders to assist creative people in pursuit of their passions and help like-minded people connect and collaborate.As well as running workshops, we publish zines, create films, make and sell a range of fab merch.Ladies of Leisure would like to acknowledge that this event is being held on stolen land. We wish to acknowledge the custodians of this land, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation and their Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded, and colonial violence continues to this day.

Get out of your head and into your body. Whether you’re feeling in or out of a funk, the most badass and beautiful Amrita Hepi will help you move your body they way it wants to be moved – even if it doesn’t know it yet! In this very special practical session, let Amrita guide you through the ups and downs of human movement through cycles of energy, ending with a guided meditation. There are no wrong moves in this “anti dance” class of sorts. This workshop is all about getting out of your head, into your body and letting go – physically and emotionally.  LEADER BIO : AMRITA HEPI  Amrita Hepi is a professional dancer/dance maker, writer and activist; a Bundjulung and Ngapuhi woman interested in movement as manifested by all bodies and reimagining/creating the greatness that will be WOC first nations futures. She studied at NAISDA and Alvin Ailey, and her current work and practice sits in the nexus between pop culture and contemporary dance with a focus on intersectionality. She has exhibited and performed at the Sydney Opera House, Nextwave Festival, Australia’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Carriageworks, TEDX, and the Banff Centre in Canada, and hosts a radio show about independent dance on FBi radio. Most recently she has joined Western Australia's Indigenous Contemporary dance company OCHRES, and continues to teach pop culture dance classes around the country.
