Family Picnic & Planting Day!
Free family planting day at Currey Park! Learn gardening, beautify the park & enjoy a hot drink and a picnic together outdoors.

Bring the family along for a relaxed and hands-on day in the park, where nature, community, and connection come together!
This event is a welcoming, free, family-friendly event designed to encourage residents to enjoy their local open space while playing an active role in caring for it. Families will be invited to get their hands dirty, learn simple planting skills, and help beautify Currey Park under the guidance of Council horticulturists.
The event will then wind down into a relaxed picnic atmosphere, giving families the opportunity to connect with one another, enjoy the outdoors, and celebrate their shared contribution to the park.
To make the day even more enjoyable, complimentary hot drinks provided by Liquid Infusion will be available. Families are encouraged to bring along their own picnic food, a blanket, and enjoy time together in the park following the planting activities.
Check-in:
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the event begins to register.
- Each participant is required to complete a waiver form. Anyone under 18 will need a parent to complete a waiver form and must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times.
- This event may be filmed or photographed, and images may be used on Council websites, publications, and social media channels. If you do not wish for your image to be published, please inform Council staff.
What to bring:
- Please bring your own gardening gloves, hat, and water bottle, and any other protective clothing you may need in addition to applying sunscreen.
