Family picnic, mosaic and planting day
Free Neighbours Day planting & mosaic workshop at Currey Park: connect, create, picnic & enjoy a hot drink together outdoors!
Join us in celebrating Neighbours Day 2026 with a family-friendly picnic & planting day at Currey Park!
This special community activation is all about bringing residents together, building local connections and enjoying the outdoors as neighbours. Designed as a welcoming, free event for families, the day invites you to take an active role in caring for your local open space while meeting others in your community.
Families will be guided by Council horticulturists to get their hands dirty, learn simple planting skills and help beautify Currey Park. After the planting session, the event will wind down into a relaxed picnic atmosphere, creating space to connect, share food and celebrate your collective contribution to the park.
For those who would like to stay and get creative, a guided DIY mosaic workshop will also be available following the planting activity. A hands-on opportunity to create something special while continuing the spirit of community connection.
Complimentary hot drinks provided by Liquid Infusion will be available, and families are encouraged to bring along their own picnic food, a blanket and enjoy quality time together in the park.
Check-in:
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the event begins to register.
- Each participant is required to complete a waiver form. Anyone under 18 will need a parent to complete a waiver form and must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times.
