Face to Face: Portrait Painting with Life Model

Learn to paint acrylic portraits from life model

This workshop introduces students to the building blocks artists use to establish a portrait painting. Through simple steps to break down the subject to plan how to access structure and tone, balanced with colour and linework. Warm up exercises are used to help relax and focus students for the task ahead.

This program is designed for youth aged 14-18

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

Carmel Byrnes has been a practicing Artist for over twenty years, Carmel also founded and runs Scratch Art Space in Marrickville. At the core of her art practice is drawing and painting; the perfect mediums for exploring the intricacies of observation and personal projection. Carmel has won a number of art awards.
