This regular 5 week art class runs on Tuesday mornings each term and welcomes both new and existing students. Term 1 will run for 5 weeks from 3 Feb - 3 March 2026.
Explore landscape painting in acrylics in this 5 week course with landscape artist and experienced teacher Bridget Seaton . Learn about colour, composition, value, mark making techniques, brush handling and more. These concepts are explored in class through experimental exercises and demonstrations are given every week. Students are encouraged to find their own voice, experiment and take a few risks in a supportive setting. Although photographs are often used as a starting point for paintings, Bridget will share some of her expressive painting techniques and tips on how to loosen up. The course is typically structured with exercises in the first two or three weeks and then time to compete a painting of a landscape of your choice in the remaining weeks. Room 1 of Atwell House.

- Acrylic paint - a suggestion is a warm red, cool red, warm yellow, cool yellow, warm blue, cool blue + white
- paint brushes - West Art acrylic brushes are affordable and great quality
- water pot
- mixing palette
- pencil
- cartridge paper to do experimental exercises on
- painting support such as canvas, board, paper or card
- images and ideas for inspiration
