Event Information
Description
The Queensland Functional Programming Lab (a joint initiative by CSIRO's Data61 and the Queensland Government), is tentatively planning a free 3-day Applied Functional Programming workshop in Brisbane, 11-13 February 2020. This workshop will run if there is a minimum number of participants.
This workshop is targeted toward programmers who have become proficient with navigating Functional Programming concepts, and in particular, Haskell data structures. This workshop involves writing a web application with a database backend.
QFPL will require a minimum of 10 confirmed registrations in order to run the course.
Expression of interest closing date: Thursday 05/02/2020 0800 (UTC+10)
Who should attend?
Are you keen to attend, but unsure whether you are ready for this workshop? Take a look at this article: http://qfpl.io/posts/intro-or-applied/
- Have you completed, or are you capable of completing, the Data61 FP Course?
- Do you have a few months self-study to your name?
- Do you want to know how to build larger applications with statically typed FP?
- Are you willing to accept that a web application is a sufficient choice?
- Can you write the canonical function of type: Applicative f => [f a] -> f [a] ?
If you are uncertain, you may want to sign up for the introductory FP course instead.
