Overview

Come join us for a morning session of exploring the fascinating world of fungi and lichens on the forest floor!

Exploring the Forest Floor: Fungi & Lichens

Join us at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden on Sunday, April 12, for a fascinating exploration of the hidden world beneath our feet!

Autumn is the perfect season to look for fungi and lichens, as these unique organisms thrive in cool, damp conditions. On this 2-hour guided activity, you’ll likely encounter Spectacular Rustgills, Deceivers, Pixie Cups and more. We’ll begin with a lab session to examine these fascinating life forms up close, before heading out into the Garden to see how many species we can find in their natural setting.

We’re excited to again welcome Sofia Zvolanek, a Sydney-based naturalist and top fungi identifier on iNaturalist, who will share her expertise.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn about the vital role fungi and lichens play in our ecosystem.

See you there!
