How can City of Melbourne achieve its aspirations for reducing embodied carbon across its built projects? Join us for a workshop on material reuse challenges and opportunities. Guest speakers Kaia McCarthy-Smith, Hilary Duff and Claire Ellis will share inspiring examples from both home and abroad on leading innovation in material reuse in design and built environment. Participants will have the opportunity to explore this theme through a hands-on activity designing for a new public park.

  • Kaia McCarthy-Smith – Founder, Wilderness Building Co.

The Excellent City Series was launched in 2021, by the City of Melbourne's City Design studio, to promote public awareness and debate on what constitutes design excellence for Melbourne. Exploring Circularity Through Material Reuse is the 16th event in the series.
