Expanding Inner Spaces: Physical Actor Training
Facilitated by Gina Tay Limpus, this workshop investigates the Actor's ever-expanding capacities for breath, voice and body
In this workshop, we will investigate the ever-expansive capacities of breath, voice, and body for the Actor. Informed by The Suzuki Method of Actor Training (Japan) and the Method of Theodoros Terzopoulos (Greece), participants will engage in a rigorous, body-centred approach to performance, investigating both the internal and external theatrical landscapes .
Together, we will explore energy generation and transference, both individually and within the ensemble. Through breath activation, collective focus, and embodied presence, participants will cultivate a heightened awareness of their bodies in space, deepen their connection to impulse, and sharpen their ability to communicate with clarity and intention through movement and sound.
Blending structured form with improvisational tasks, this workshop invites performers to expand their physical and vocal vocabulary, and to examine the relationship between discipline, imagination, and collective creation.
