Facilitated by internationally renowned contemporary dance company, Australian Dance Theatre (ADT)and supported by Mount Barker District Council, this FREE workshop series invites people living with disability to experience the joy of expressing themselves through dance.
The sessions will be led by ADT teaching artists, working with participants across 6 workshops to explore creative movement in a welcoming, fun and inclusive environment. The workshop series will culminate in a showing, sharing the process and work created with family and friends at the exquisite Ukaria Cultural Centre.
WORKSHOP DATES (all Wednesdays) :
June 5, June 12, June 19, July 17 and July 24 at the Hahndorf Memorial Institute, 59 Mount Barker Rd, Hahndorf.
These workshops will run 10am - 1.30pm, with lunch provided.
July 31 at Ukaria Cultural Centre, 119 Williams Rd, Mount Barker Summit.
This final workshop will run from 1pm – 4pm, with a community showing at 6.30 pm.

No prior dance experience is necessary. These workshops are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to participants of all skill levels.
Yes, the workshops are designed to be accessible to people with a range of disabilities. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate them. Carers are expected to attend with the participants.
Ideally, participants are encouraged to commit to all six workshops to get the most of out of the experience. We recognise that participants may not be able to attend every session.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Participants are also encouraged to bring water bottles and any necessary assistive devices they may require.
